INSPIRATION

I CAN'T POO is a personal story inspired by a real experience with constipation, which I decided to approach ironically. As comedy is one of my favourite genres to write, I wanted to fully embrace a subject that many people might consider taboo!

The title and concept are intentionally attention-grabbing, which was exactly my goal: to create a story that makes audiences laugh, think, "What am I watching?" and, at the same time, touch on an issue that many women experience but rarely talk about openly...

I also had a lot of fun bringing my visual creativity into the script, imagining exaggerated situations and comedic moments that would make the story feel unique.

My favourite part from the script is:

"Rapidly, she looks at her fingers. Her eyes grow wider as she lifts one finger for each number. She reaches 5."

Unfortunately, due to time limitations, the entire scene was removed from the final production. Even more tragically, the editor accidentally deleted all of the footage, meaning the project is now completely lost! However, I've always told myself that one day I will re-shoot this short film, because I would still love to see those scenes brought to life on screen!
