I wanted to write about the misunderstandings that can come from innocence and inexperience. I felt inspired by the show The Big Bang Theory. I was fascinated by how some of the characters struggled to understand relationships and romance. That inspired me to create a character who has very little experience with women and completely misinterprets the intentions of a more rebellious and experienced girl. While she is only interested in a casual hookup, he genuinely believes he is on a romantic date. The contrast between their expectations became the heart of the story, and I wanted to use that misunderstanding to create something funny, awkward, and endearing.
